Advocacy

The Association of Psychology in Newfoundland Labrador was established to further the profession of psychology and to promote human welfare.

APNL is involved in a number of initiatives and events in order to fulfill its mandate:

  • To promote the teaching, training and continuing education of psychologists according to national standrards.
  • To provide information to the public about psychologists and psychology.
  • To promote the development of research into the application of psychology to the solution of human problems.
  • To promote the development of accessible psychological services to the public.
  • To render such services as it properly can to the federal and provincial governments and their departments, concerned with such things as education, health, justice, industry, and other social and provincial problems.
