Members support APNL's purpose and advocate to that end.
Members agree to abide by:
- The Canadian Psychological Association’s Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines
- The Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct for psychologists.
Membership Benefits
Membership in APNL provides many professional benefits:
- Members receive a discount on registration for APNL – sponsored workshops and seminars.
- Members receive access to the Member Area of APNL's website.
- Members receive a discount from insurance companies who provide professional liability coverage.
- Members receive a fee discount for registration with the Canadian Psychological Association.
- Members who are registered with the NLPB may choose to be listed on the website, providing professional exposure to the public.
- Members receive e-newsletters.
- Members are part of a provincial network of psychologists and supporters of the profession and discipline of psychology.
Membership Types
Membership in the Association of Psychology in Newfoundland Labrador can be obtained through one of three methods as outlined below.
MEMBER
Requirements: Masters degree OR Doctoral degree in Psychology from a recognized University as judged by the Executive.*
STUDENT
Requirements: Full-time student who is actively engaged in studies pursuant to higher qualifications in Psychology as deemed appropriate by Executive.*
GRAND-FATHERED AFFILIATE
Requirements: Individuals holding status of AFFILIATE as of June 2005, and who do not meet the requirements of MEMBER or STUDENT.
* if applicants are registered with the NLPB, APNL recognizes that educational background has been successfully evaluated.
